2025: Total Dependence

For a righteous man may fall seven times And rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity. Proverbs 24:16

When I asked the Lord what this new year of 2025 will be marked by for His people, I heard the reply, “Total Dependence”. He began to share with my spirit that this year His followers will operate in a state of absolute surrender and complete dependence on Him for everything that will come. In years past, His people thought they understood total dependence. They vouched for His ability to sustain them for everything they’ve needed. They’ve decreed it with their lips and meant it with their hearts, but there was a deep fire of testing and purification that went deeper than most could imagine that still had to be walked through in order for that level of dependence to be established within. Only through suffering, loss and great pressing could that type of Gethsemane forged, Father, not my will but Your Will be done dependence come forth. So the ones who said yes to the call have walked out trials and been in the furnace for the past season in the earth for this great purpose.

There is a purpose for it all. The Lord knows many need that reminder because He sees the weight of what they’ve endured.

The enemy has tried to steal and blur that purpose through the intensity and drawn out reality of those fires of affliction, to make it seem like it was all for naught.

But the Father has brought them to this valley of vision. To a place of just them and the cross. He has brought them to a place where their commitment to the call of Christ is not up for debate or in danger of loss because they have already submitted and paid the price of walking out the loss of all, the loss of illusions of worth in any other call.

So these, the Father says, are a dangerous bunch. There’s nothing you could take from them or threaten to do to move them from their commitment to Him and His call. Even when all hope seemed to have snuffed out in this past season, they said,

Nevertheless, still Lord, I am yours. That’s all, and that’s enough.

That is everything.

It’s interesting and upside down logic of course that the most dangerous group to mess with are the ones who are laid down, oftentimes in fetal position humility, in complete surrender, holding no defenses, sitting at the feet of a King with all their oil they’ve saved spilled out.

Not a drop left to give.

These are the ones He has prepared for the wartime days ahead, and they are ready. They are ready because they’ve let the Good Shepherd bring them to the lowest part of the valley, the place where everything around has grown still and silent. They couldn’t even see Him in the depth of this valley.

But He was there. Never wavering to sustain.

They now see clearer than ever before that Christ is worth it all— He is all they can see.

There was never any other way…There was never anyone else…they can see that as clear as day now.

Like the dawning of a new day, they see it so experientially,

they have become that reality.

Vision like this becomes a forged strength that cannot be rattled. Cannot be shaken. The Lord already has their yes,

He has had it all along.

So now in this year of 2025, though there are great shakings, losses and earth-rattlings ahead, because they have already willingly walked in faith through this alone with the Lord, they will be strong, established firmly in total dependence on the One.

For those who have held back and not been willing to walk out the call, the things they have been unwilling to part with will be taken from them forcefully and without consent.

But for the ones who have been in the furnace with the Fourth Man because of their yes,

In 2025 they will say with David, this anthem song…

Without a shadow of doubt, these ones have become this kind of total dependence:

Lord how many are my foes! How many rise against me!

Many are saying of me, “God will not deliver him.”

But You Lord are a Shield around me. My Glory, the One who lifts my head high.

I call out to the Lord, and He answers me from His holy mountain.

I lie down in sleep; I wake again because the Lord sustains me.

I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side.

Arise, Lord! Deliver me, my God!

Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked.

From the Lord comes deliverance, may your blessing be on your people.
